Visiting your local chiropractor can be intimidating, especially if you don’t know what to expect. What are the chiropractic techniques for back & neck pain? There a few different techniques that a professional chiropractor will use to relieve the pain and improve range of motion. We here at Utah Accident Clinic want you to feel comfortable and have a brief description of some of the techniques we use on our customers.

Diversified Technique

This adjustment is one of most chiropractic techniques for back & neck pain. It consists of hands on thrusts to the patient. You may also hear a “popping” noise during this adjustment. This technique will help to improve range of motion and align the spine.

Soft Tissue Therapy

This technique feels very much like a massage to the areas of pain, such as your tendons, muscles, and other tissues. Blood circulation will improve after this treatment and will reduce inflammation. You will also leave the office feeling a lot more relaxed.

Gonstead Technique

If you are experiencing lower back pain, it is very likely a chiropractor will use the Gonstead technique to adjust that area. This is one of the most basic techniques that will reduce pain, help to realign the joints, and improve range of motion.

Flexion Distraction

This technique is also known as the Cox Technic or decompression manipulation. Patients will lie on a special adjusting table and the chiropractor will perform a gentle stretching like movement to the affected area.

Logan Technique

While it’s not a very common technique for back and neck pain, it is used in certain circumstances. A chiropractor will apply a gentle pressure to the spine, which realign spinal bones and release any tension and stress.

Lastly, our professional chiropractors at Utah Accident Clinic will assess the areas of pain in your back and neck. We will then use the best technique for your specific pain to treat the area.
